The beauty of this recipe is that it's baked, not cooked on the stovetop, and you can put everything together the night before. In the morning, put the soaked bread in the oven, and by the time the juice is squeezed and the table is set, you'll have French toast, hot and sweet, baked to a golden crisp.

Tips:
- Use Thick Slices of Bread: For a more decadent and satisfying French toast, use thick slices of bread, about 1 inch thick. This will allow the bread to soak up more of the egg mixture and custard, resulting in a richer and more flavorful dish.
- Don't Overcrowd the Pan: When cooking the French toast, don't overcrowd the pan. This will prevent the bread from cooking evenly and may result in soggy or undercooked French toast.
- Cook Over Medium Heat: Cook the French toast over medium heat. This will help to prevent the bread from burning and will allow it to cook through evenly.
- Flip the French Toast Only Once: Once the French toast is golden brown on one side, carefully flip it over. Flipping the French toast too often can break it up and make it difficult to cook evenly.
- Serve with Your Favorite Toppings: Serve the French toast with your favorite toppings, such as butter, syrup, fruit, whipped cream, or powdered sugar.
Conclusion:
This baked French toast recipe is an easy and delicious way to start your day. The combination of bread, eggs, milk, and spices creates a rich and flavorful dish that is sure to please everyone at the table.
