FALL OFF THE BONE BAKED MAPLE GLAZED RIBS

Fall off the Bone Baked Maple Glazed Ribs image

These are SOOOO good; fall of the bone tender and a spicy sweet homemade BBQ sauce. The low temperature cooking aspect is easily changed based on how long you have (I've baked for 5 hours before at a lower temp) but this is the basic cooking time/temp required. If you extend the cooking time, just drop the temperature a bit. I have to admit that I never measure the maple syrup, I just pour over until coated.

Tips:

  • Choose the right ribs: Select meaty pork ribs, such as baby back or spare ribs. Look for ribs that are evenly marbled with fat and have a good amount of meat on them.
  • Remove the membrane: Before cooking, remove the tough membrane from the back of the ribs. This will help the ribs cook more evenly and tender.
  • Use a good quality maple syrup: Choose a dark, robust maple syrup for the best flavor. Avoid using pancake syrup, as it is too thin and sweet.
  • Don't overcook the ribs: Ribs are best when they are cooked until they are tender and fall off the bone, but not so much that they become dry and tough.
  • Let the ribs rest before serving: After cooking, let the ribs rest for a few minutes before serving. This will help the juices redistribute throughout the meat, making them even more tender and flavorful.
