Healthier and tastier way to serve fish. I have used flounder, catfish, grouper, perch and tilapia with great results. If your fish is not getting crispy try broiling it for a minute or so to get it crispy. Oh and parmesan from a can is ok but treat yourself and use freshly grated. You will be oh so happy you did.

BAKED PARMESAN FISH WITH PASTA

Baked Parmesan Fish With Pasta image

I made this for dinner tonight and it was really good! I used tilapia for the fish. There is really no "sauce" for the pasta so I tossed the noodles with melted butter for some extra flavor, then topped them with the fish and mushroom mixture.

PARMESAN BAKED FISH

Yield 4

Number Of Ingredients 5

4 ounces fresh or frozen skinless salmon or other firm fish fillets, about 1 inch thick
1/4 cup light mayonnaise or salad dressing
2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
1 tablespoon snipped fresh chives or sliced green onion
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce for chicken

Steps:

  • 1. Thaw fish, if frozen. Preheat oven to 450 degrees F. Rinse fish; pat dry with paper towels. Set aside. 2. In small bowl, stir together mayonnaise, Parmesan cheese, chives, and Worcestershire sauce. Spread mayonnaise mixture over fish. Place in greased 2-quart square or rectangular baking dish. 3. Bake for 8 to 12 minutes or until fish flakes easily with a fork. Makes 4 servings.

Tips:

  • Choose the right fish: For this recipe, mild-flavored fish like cod, tilapia, or flounder work best. They will absorb the flavors of the sauce without overpowering it.
  • Season the fish well: Don't be afraid to season the fish liberally with salt and pepper. This will help to enhance the natural flavor of the fish and make it more flavorful.
  • Use a good quality Parmesan cheese: The Parmesan cheese is one of the key ingredients in this recipe, so it's important to use a good quality cheese. Look for a Parmesan cheese that is aged for at least 12 months.
  • Don't overcook the fish: Fish is a delicate protein, so it's important to not overcook it. Cook the fish until it is just cooked through, but still flaky. Overcooked fish will be dry and tough.
  • Serve with your favorite sides: This dish can be served with a variety of sides, such as roasted vegetables, rice, or mashed potatoes.

Conclusion:

Baked Parmesan fish is a delicious and easy-to-make dish that is perfect for a weeknight meal. It's also a great way to get your kids to eat fish.
