Salt and pepper
2 tablespoons butter, plus more to butter the baking dish
1 cup grated Parmesan

1/4 cup currants
Pinch of grated nutmeg
1 teaspoon grated lemon zest

Tips for Making the Best Baked Spinach Rice

  • Use fresh spinach. Fresh spinach has a more vibrant flavor than frozen spinach, and it will also wilt down more easily.
  • Cook the rice until it is almost done. The rice will continue to cook in the oven, so you don't want to overcook it.
  • Add plenty of cheese. Cheese adds flavor and richness to the dish.
  • Season the rice well. Salt, pepper, and garlic powder are all good choices.
  • Bake the rice until it is golden brown. This will give the rice a nice crispy texture.

Conclusion

Baked spinach rice is a delicious and easy-to-make dish that is perfect for a weeknight meal. It is also a great way to use up leftover rice. With its simple ingredients and customizable flavor profile, this dish is sure to please everyone at the table.
