BANANA NUTELLA CROISSANTS

Banana Nutella Croissants image

Inspired by Parisian crepes, my semi-homemade Banana Nutella Croissants require just 4 ingredients. Everyone will be begging for the easy recipe for this bakery-quality pastry!

Provided by Meggan Hill

Categories     Breakfast     Dessert

Time 1h

Number Of Ingredients 4

1 box (2 sheets) frozen puff pastry (thawed until softened but still cold (see note 1))
3/4 cup Nutella (or other hazelnut spread (see note 2))
1 to 2 bananas (thinly sliced (36 slices, see note 3))
egg wash ((1 whole egg + 1 tablespoon water whisked together, see note 4))

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone mat. Working with one sheet of puff pastry at a time, unfold it on a lightly floured surface. Following the seams in the puff pastry, cut the sheet into thirds.
  • Cut each third into two triangles by cutting between two opposite corners to make six long, skinny triangles. Repeat with second sheet of puff pastry until you have 12 triangles. Spread 1 tablespoon Nutella on the widest part of each triangle. Top with 3 banana slices.
  • Starting at the wide end of the triangle, roll the pastry up so the tip of the pastry is underneath the croissant. Arrange on prepared baking sheet and repeat with remaining triangles.
  • Brush the tops of the croissants with the egg and water mixture. Place in oven and bake until the croissants are fragrant and golden brown, 30 to 40 minutes. Remove from oven and cool 5 minutes. Serve warm or at room temperature.

Time 2h35m

Yield 8 to 10 servings

Number Of Ingredients 11

Nonstick cooking spray, for greasing the pan
2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour, plus more for dusting the pan (see Cook's Note)
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
1 1/2 cups sugar
3 very ripe bananas (about 1 pound)
4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
2 large eggs
1 cup chocolate-hazelnut spread, such as Nutella
2 tablespoons hazelnuts, chopped

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 325 degrees F. Generously coat an 8 1/2-inch-by-4 1/2-inch loaf pan with nonstick spray and dust with flour, tap out the excess.
  • Whisk together the flour, baking soda and salt in a medium bowl and set aside. Mash the sugar with the bananas in a large bowl until smooth. Whisk in the butter, vanilla and eggs. Whisk in the flour mixture until just combined.
  • Microwave the chocolate-hazelnut spread in a small microwave-safe bowl and until pourable, about 30 seconds. Reserve 2 tablespoons in a small bowl and set aside. Spread half of the batter in the bottom of the prepared pan. Pour the warmed hazelnut spread down the center of the batter leaving about a 1/2-inch border all around so that you have a chocolate-hazelnut center. Spread the remaining batter on top and smooth out with a spatula.
  • Bake until the top is domed, about 1 hour 15 minutes. Cool in the pan and on a wire rack for 30 minutes, then carefully invert onto a platter or cake stand and then turn upright. Cool completely on the wire rack, about 1 hour. Microwave the reserved hazelnut spread until it can be drizzled, about 30 seconds. Drizzle the spread over the cake then sprinkle the hazelnuts down the center.

NUTELLA AND BANANA STUFFED CRESCENT ROLLS

Nutella and Banana Stuffed Crescent Rolls image

Stuff a buttery crescent roll with banana and a smear of Nutella, roll it in cinnamon sugar, and bake. This is the recipe for happiness, in 10 minutes flat.

Provided by Karen

Categories     Dessert

Time 17m

Number Of Ingredients 5

1 8-count can crescent rolls
1/4 Nutella
2 bananas
1/3 cup sugar
1-3 teaspoons cinnamon

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F. Lightly spray a baking sheet or line with parchment paper or a silpat.
  • Open the can of crescent rolls and unroll.
  • Spread some Nutella on the fat end of each roll. I didn't measure. Like a half tablespoon or so.
  • Cut each banana into 4 segments. Place one on each roll.
  • Roll up the dough and seal using your fingers. You don't want all your Nutella oozing out!
  • In a shallow bowl stir together the cinnamon and sugar.
  • Roll each one in the cinnamon and sugar. Coat it well!
  • Place the rolls on the baking sheet.
  • Bake at 375 for about 12 minutes, or until browned on the bottom.
  • Eat hot! These are best served right away. If you want to eat them later, I would definitely throw them back in the oven until warmed.

LASAGNA-STUFFED CROISSANT

Lasagna-Stuffed Croissant image

A fabulous lasagna-style stuffed croissant, of sorts, but without the noodles! A childhood favorite that started with my great-grandmother.

Provided by Cindy L.

Categories     Main Dish Recipes     Pasta     Lasagna Recipes     Meat Lasagna Recipes

Time 1h

Yield 8

Number Of Ingredients 16

½ pound ground pork sausage
½ pound ground beef
1 (6 ounce) can tomato paste
¾ onion, chopped
1 tablespoon dried parsley flakes
½ teaspoon dried basil
½ teaspoon dried oregano
1 pinch garlic powder, or to taste
salt and ground black pepper to taste
1 cup cottage cheese
¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 egg
2 (8 ounce) tubes refrigerated crescent rolls
½ cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese, or to taste
2 teaspoons milk, or as needed
2 tablespoons sesame seeds

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
  • Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook and stir pork and beef in the hot skillet until browned and crumbly, 5 to 7 minutes. Drain and discard grease. Blot meat with paper napkins to remove as much grease as possible.
  • Add tomato paste, onion, parsley, basil, oregano, garlic powder, salt, and pepper to the browned meat. Reduce heat to medium-low. Mix well and simmer the meat filling, uncovered, for 5 minutes.
  • Meanwhile, mix cottage cheese, Parmesan cheese, and egg together for the cheese filling.
  • Unroll crescent rolls and press together to form a rectangle of dough. Place on an ungreased baking sheet, with the short sides of the dough hanging over the long edge of the baking sheet.
  • Spread 1/2 of the meat filling down the middle of the dough. Spoon cheese filling on top. Layer remaining meat filling over the cheese. Add Monterey Jack cheese on top. Pull sides of dough across one another to form a loaf, sealing all open edges. Brush top of loaf with milk and sprinkle sesame seeds on top.
  • Bake in the preheated oven until deep golden brown in color, 20 to 25 minutes.

Banana and Nutella Stuffed French Toast image

With melted Nutella, warmed bananas and a cinnamon-flavored custard coating, this French toast is indulgent and impressive--but secretly very easy to make.

Provided by Kelly Senyei

Categories     main-dish

Time 25m

Yield 4 servings

Number Of Ingredients 9

Eight 1-inch-thick slices challah or brioche
1/4 cup chocolate-hazelnut spread, such as Nutella®
2 ripe bananas, sliced, plus more for serving
3/4 cup heavy cream
4 large eggs, lightly beaten
1 tablespoon sugar
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
Butter, for frying
Pure maple syrup, for serving

Steps:

  • Using a sharp paring knife, cut a 3-inch-wide slit into one side of each bread slice, cutting about three-quarters of the way through to make a pocket.
  • Spread 1/2 tablespoon of the chocolate-hazelnut spread inside each pocket and then layer in 3 to 4 banana slices.
  • Heat a large skillet over medium heat and add enough butter to liberally coat the bottom. Heat until hot, but not smoking.
  • Meanwhile, whisk together the cream, eggs, sugar and cinnamon in a medium bowl. Soak each stuffed bread slice into the custard and, working in batches, fry in a single layer until the custard is fully cooked, about 3 minutes per side.
  • Top the French toast with additional banana slices and serve warm with a drizzle of maple syrup.

BANANA NUTELLA STUFFED CROISSANT

Banana Nutella Stuffed Croissant image

This recipe and photo are from one of Costco's cookbooks.

Provided by Lynnda Cloutier @eatygourmet

Categories     Breakfast Casseroles

Number Of Ingredients 13

- 1 large butter croissant
- 4 tbsp. cream cheese
- 2 tbsp. nutella
- 1/2 banana, sliced into round
- 3 tbsp. brown sugar
- 1 egg
- 1/4 cup milk
- 2 tbsp. sugar
- 1 tbsp. rum
- ½ tsp. vanilla extract
- butter
- powdered sugar, optional
- fresh fruit, optional

Steps:

  • Slice croissant lengthwise almost all the way through. Spread cream cheese on both sides. Spread Nutella on top of cream cheese. Toss banana slices with brown sugar and put in ovenproof pan. Put under a hot broiler for about 30 seconds or until the sugar melts. Put banana slices on top of Nutella and close the croissant. In bowl, mix egg, milk, sugar, rum and vanilla mix until well blended. Dunk croissant into batter, soaking well. Heat a sauté pan over medium heat and coat with a little butter. Add croissant and cook like French toast, turning once. Top with powdered sugar and fresh fruit, if desired. Makes 1 serving. Cooking the Costco Way

Tips:

  • For a crispier croissant, brush the top with an egg wash before baking.
  • If you don't have Nutella, you can use any other chocolate spread or even peanut butter.
  • To make the croissants ahead of time, assemble them and place them on a baking sheet. Cover them with plastic wrap and refrigerate overnight. In the morning, let them come to room temperature for 30 minutes before baking.
  • If you don't have a rolling pin, you can use a wine bottle or even a glass to roll out the dough.
  • Be careful not to overfill the croissants, or they will burst open during baking.

Conclusion:

Banana Nutella Stuffed Croissants are a delicious and easy-to-make breakfast or brunch treat. They're perfect for special occasions or just a lazy weekend morning. With a few simple ingredients and a little bit of time, you can create these delicious pastries that are sure to impress your family and friends.
