BASIL AND SUN-DRIED TOMATO DIP RECIPE

Basil and Sun-Dried Tomato Dip Recipe image

Provided by cricket31

Number Of Ingredients 6

6 sun-dried tomato halves, packed in oil
1 cup DANNON® All Natural Plain Yogurt
2 1/2 Tbsp. fresh basil leaves, chopped
1 Tbsp. extra virgin olive oil
1 clove garlic, crushed through a press
Salt and pepper, to taste

Steps:

  • Drain and chop sun-dried tomatoes. In a bowl, combine sun-dried tomatoes, DANNON® All Natural Plain Yogurt, basil, oil and garlic. Mix well. Add salt and pepper to taste. Serve with Artisan Breads. Refrigerate any leftovers.

Tips:

  • Use fresh basil for the best flavor. If you don't have fresh basil, you can use dried basil, but it won't be as flavorful.
  • Use sun-dried tomatoes that are packed in oil. This will help to give the dip a rich, flavorful taste.
  • If you don't have sun-dried tomatoes, you can use regular tomatoes. Just roast them in the oven until they are slightly caramelized.
  • Use a good quality olive oil. This will help to give the dip a smooth, creamy texture.
  • Season the dip to taste with salt and pepper. You may also want to add a pinch of garlic powder or onion powder.
  • Serve the dip with your favorite crackers, chips, or vegetables.

Conclusion:

Basil sun-dried tomato dip is a delicious and easy-to-make appetizer that is perfect for any occasion. It is made with just a few simple ingredients and can be ready in minutes. This dip is also a great way to use up leftover basil and sun-dried tomatoes. So next time you are looking for a quick and easy appetizer, give this basil sun-dried tomato dip a try.
