Tips:

  • Prep Ahead: To save time, marinate the beef and prepare the sauce the night before cooking.
  • Tenderize the Beef: Use a meat mallet or fork to tenderize the beef before marinating for extra tender results.
  • Choose the Right Beef: For a leaner option, use flank steak or sirloin steak. For a more flavorful dish, use ribeye steak or New York strip steak.
  • Cook on Low: Cooking the beef and broccoli on low for 6-8 hours allows the flavors to meld and the beef to become fall-apart tender.
  • Thicken the Sauce: If desired, thicken the sauce by adding a cornstarch slurry (equal parts cornstarch and water) towards the end of cooking.
  • Serve with Rice: Beef and broccoli is traditionally served over rice. For a healthier option, use brown rice or cauliflower rice.

Conclusion:

This crock pot beef and broccoli recipe is an easy and delicious way to enjoy a classic Chinese takeout dish at home. With just a few simple ingredients and minimal prep work, you can have a flavorful and satisfying meal that the whole family will love.
