CREAMY ALFREDO SAUCE RECIPE
This Alfredo sauce recipe is one of my favorites. Actually I think it's just about everyone's favorite pasta recipe. For a special treat you can't beat cream, cheese and pasta together!

Steps:
- Heat a large saucepan over high heat until very hot. Add just enough cold water to cover the bottom of the pan. Let the water evaporate (it will do this quickly) but make sure there are a few drops left in the pan. This will keep the cream from scorching and burning on the bottom of the pan. Remove the pan from the heat.
- Add the cream to the pan and return it to the heat. When the cream comes to a boil, reduce heat to medium/ medium high and continue to boil until it is reduced by half. During that time, add the garlic.
- In the meantime, cook pasta in well salted water according to package directions. Drain well when cooked.
- When the cream is reduced remove it from the heat. Add butter 1 tablespoon at a time and whisk it in. The cream should thicken and turn glossy. Add the cheese and hot pasta to the cream. Season with salt and pepper and garnish with chopped fresh parsley. Serve immediately (with added parmesan cheese for me!).

- Heat 2 tablespoons of butter in a skillet over medium heat. Stir in the mushrooms; cook and stir until softened, about 5 minutes. Set aside.

- In a medium sauce pan, add butter, heavy whipping cream, and cream cheese.
- Cook over medium heat and whisk until melted.

This recipe is for people who like thier alfredo sauce really thick and heavy. The walnuts can be ommitted if desired. - In a food processor mix the basil, grated cheese, walnuts, crushed red pepper, salt, pepper, and garlic salt.
- Set aside for later in the recipe.
- In a large sauce pan melt one stick of butter on meduim low heat.
- Once the butter has melted entirely add the chopped onion and the minced garlic. Cook until the onion becomes translucent (maybe 5 minutes).
- Now turn the heat to low and slowly sift in the flour. Constantly stirring until its all mixed smoothly.
- Now slowly add in the half and half. Again stirring constantly. Mix until its all well blended and smooth.
- At this point turn the heat back up to medium and add the sour cream and cream cheese.
- Cook until most of the cream cheese dissolves into the sauce. At this point add the mixed ingredients in the food processor to the sauce and stir everything together until the sauce becomes totally smooth and creamy,.
- Put sauce on top of your favorite pasta and add the chopped asparagus.
