Yield 20 Servings

Number Of Ingredients 5

3 cups nonfat dry milk
2 cups confectioners' sugar
1 1/2 cups Dutch-processed cocoa powder
1 1/2 cups white chocolate chips
1/4 teaspoon Salt

Steps:

  • Combine ingredients in large bowl. Working in two batches, pulse ingredients in food processor until chocolate is finely ground. Store in airtight container for up to 3 months. To make hot cocoa, stir 1/3 cup of this mix into 1 cup of hot milk. Top with whipped cream or mini marshmallows.

Tips:

  • Use high-quality cocoa powder. This is the key to a rich, flavorful hot cocoa mix. Look for a cocoa powder that is labeled "unsweetened" or "natural."
  • Add a pinch of salt. This helps to balance out the sweetness of the cocoa and create a more complex flavor.
  • Experiment with different flavors. You can add spices like cinnamon, nutmeg, or cardamom to your hot cocoa mix. You can also add extracts like vanilla or almond.
  • Make sure your milk is hot. The hotter the milk, the better it will dissolve the cocoa powder.
  • Top your hot cocoa with whipped cream or marshmallows. This is a classic way to make your hot cocoa even more decadent.

Conclusion:

No matter how you choose to make it, hot cocoa is a delicious and comforting drink that is perfect for any occasion. So next time you're feeling chilly, whip up a batch of your favorite hot cocoa mix and enjoy a warm and cozy cup of goodness.
