HOMEMADE HONEY CANDY

Steps:
- Combine the first 3 ingredients and cook slowly on medium heat until it forms a hard ball when you drop it into ice water. It took me about an hour. As the mixture gets close to being done, the bubbles from the boil will get a lot smaller and closer together. Pour the mixture onto a buttered cooking sheet. When cooled, pull with buttered hands. Stretch, twist and pull until firm (this is the fun part! ;)) and then form into long ropes and place on waxed paper. Cut into bite size pieces. If you want, you can roll them in powdered sugar and wrap them in wax paper.
Tips:
- Use fresh ingredients: The fresher the ingredients, the better the candy will taste. This is especially important for the honey, which should be pure and unadulterated.
- Follow the recipe carefully: This is not the time to experiment. If you change the ingredients or proportions, you may end up with a candy that is too hard, too soft, or too sticky.
- Use a candy thermometer: This is the best way to ensure that the candy reaches the correct temperature. If you don't have a candy thermometer, you can use the cold water test. To do this, drop a small amount of the candy into a bowl of cold water. If the candy forms a hard ball, it is ready.
- Be patient: Making candy takes time. Don't rush the process or you may end up with a candy that is not properly set.
- Store the candy properly: Once the candy is made, it should be stored in an airtight container in a cool, dry place.
Conclusion:
Bit-O-Honey candy is a delicious and easy-to-make treat that can be enjoyed by people of all ages. With just a few simple ingredients and a little bit of time, you can create a candy that is sure to be a hit. So next time you're looking for a sweet treat, give Bit-O-Honey candy a try.
