3 (15 ounce) cans black beans, rinsed and drained
1 ½ cups chopped onion
1 ½ cups chopped celery
1 ½ cups chopped green pepper
1 cup water
1 (8 ounce) can tomato sauce
4 cloves garlic, minced
2 teaspoons dried thyme
1 teaspoon chicken bouillon granules
1 teaspoon white pepper
¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper
2 bay leaves

Steps:

  • Place a large skillet over medium heat, and add sausage. Cook, stirring, until sausage is browned, about 5 minutes. Drain fat, and transfer sausage to slow cooker.
  • Stir the black beans, onion, celery, green pepper, water, tomato sauce, garlic, thyme, bullion granules, white pepper, cayenne pepper, and bay leaves into the sausage in the slow cooker. Cover, and cook on Low until vegetables are tender, about 6 hours. Remove bay leaves before serving.

1 pound kielbasa or other smoked sausage, cut into 1-inch pieces
3 medium carrots, diced small
2 shallots, diced small
Coarse salt and ground pepper
2 garlic cloves, minced
2 cans (15.5 ounces each) black beans, rinsed and drained
2 cups low-sodium chicken broth
3 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley, plus more for serving
1/4 cup plain yogurt, for serving

  • In a large skillet, heat oil over medium-high. Add sausage and cook until browned on all sides, about 8 minutes. Transfer to a plate. 1 small onion, chopped
3 green onions, chopped
1 -2 clove garlic, minced
1 teaspoon vegetable oil
1/2 teaspoon creole seasoning (I use Tony's Chachere's Original Creole seasoning)
1 (10 ounce) can rotel diced tomatoes with mild green chilies, undrained
1 (15 ounce) can black beans, drained and rinsed
1 (14 ounce) can chicken broth
1 cup long grain rice, not instant
water

  • In a large family skillet with lid, heat oil on medium heat.
  • Add onion, green onion and garlic; sauté until soft.
