BLACK-EYED PEAS JAMBALAYA(RICE COOKER)

Black-Eyed Peas Jambalaya(Rice Cooker) image

Make and share this Black-Eyed Peas Jambalaya(Rice Cooker) recipe from Food.com.

Provided by mightyro_cooking4u

Categories     Rice

Time 50m

Yield 4 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 8

6 tablespoons butter
1 bell pepper, small, chopped
1 1/2 cups rice, raw
1 (10 1/2 ounce) can beef broth
1 onion, small, chopped
1 lb smoked sausage, sliced and browned
1 tablespoon seasoning (Cajun or Creole to taste)
1 (10 1/2 ounce) can black-eyed peas, jalapeno

Steps:

  • Mix all ingredients together in a rice cooker, press the button and cook.

Tips:

  • Use fresh vegetables. Fresh vegetables will give your jambalaya the best flavor and texture. If you can't find fresh vegetables, frozen vegetables are a good substitute.
  • Don't overcook the vegetables. Vegetables should be cooked until they are tender but still have a little bit of crunch. Overcooked vegetables will be mushy and flavorless.
  • Use a good quality broth. The broth you use will make a big difference in the flavor of your jambalaya. Use a broth that is flavorful and has a good body. If you don't have any broth on hand, you can use water, but your jambalaya will not be as flavorful.
  • Season your jambalaya well. Jambalaya should be well-seasoned with salt, pepper, and Cajun spices. Be careful not to over-season it, though, or it will be too spicy.
  • Cook the jambalaya over low heat. Jambalaya should be cooked over low heat so that the flavors have time to meld together. If you cook it over high heat, the vegetables will overcook and the rice will be mushy.

Conclusion:

Black-eyed peas veggie jambalaya is a delicious and easy-to-make dish that is perfect for any occasion. It is a great way to use up leftover vegetables and it is also a very affordable meal. Next time you are looking for a quick and easy meal, give black-eyed peas veggie jambalaya a try!
