BLENDER CHOCOLATE PIE

A Sunday School friend in Pensacola, Mary Ann, gave me this recipe at least 40 years ago. It's not a very pretty pie, but it surely is yummy! Photo: http://batsontableforthree.blogspot.com/2008/03/blender-chocolate-pie.html

Time 40m

Number Of Ingredients 7

3 eggs
1 1/2 c granulated sugar
3 Tbsp cocoa, unsweetened
1 can(s) (small) evaporated milk
1 stick butter or margarine, melted
1 pinch salt
1 tsp vanilla extract

Steps:

  • 1. Mix eggs, sugar, cocoa, and milk in blender.
  • 2. Add butter, salt, and vanilla. Blend.
  • 3. Pour into an unbaked pie shell (deep dish kind is best as it holds more) and bake at 325 for 40 to 45 minutes.
  • 4. Be sure to bake on bottom shelf in oven so that bottom of crust will get done.
  • 5. Serve topped with whipped cream or Cool Whip. Sprinkle with ground nuts or ground chocolate if you want to make it fancy.

Tips:

  • Use a good quality dark chocolate or semi-sweet chocolate for a richer flavor.
  • Make sure your pie crust is completely cooled before filling it, otherwise the filling will melt.
  • If you don't have a springform pan, you can use a regular pie plate, but you'll need to trim the edges of the crust before baking.
  • Don't overmix the filling, or it will become too thick and difficult to pour.
  • Chill the pie for at least 3 hours before serving, or overnight for the best flavor.

Conclusion:

A blender chocolate pie is a delicious and easy-to-make dessert that is perfect for any occasion. You can customize the flavor by using different types of chocolate, adding nuts or fruit, or using a different type of crust. With just a few simple ingredients and a blender, you can have a delicious and impressive pie in no time.
