I never met Bonnie but I've been making her meatloaf for years! Serve with her glaze on top - or your favourite tomato or mushroom sauce. Add some garlic mashed potatoes & a green vegetable for a great weeknight family dinner. Leftovers (if there are any) make a good sandwich.

EASY STOVE TOP MEATLOAF

Easy Stove Top Meatloaf image

This is the easiest and best tasting meatloaf I've ever had. My family loves it too! It's extremely versatile. To easily add variety, try varying the sauce used in and on the meatloaf -- use ketchup for traditional, but you can use just about anything else! I've listed this with my favorites flavor. This makes an excellent OAMC or freezer meal as well. Finally, it can even be cooked in the crock pot instead of the oven, on high, for about 3-4 hours or on low all day. Don't add any liquid.

Tips:

  • Choose the right ground meat. For the best flavor and texture, use a combination of ground beef and ground pork. You can also use all beef, but it will be a bit drier.
  • Season the meatloaf well. Use a variety of herbs and spices to give the meatloaf flavor. Some good options include salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, and thyme.
  • Don't overmix the meatloaf. Overmixing will make the meatloaf tough. Just mix the ingredients until they are combined.
  • Form the meatloaf into a loaf shape. You can use a loaf pan or just shape it with your hands. Be sure to pack the meatloaf tightly so that it doesn't fall apart.
  • Cook the meatloaf on a rack. This will allow the grease to drain off and help the meatloaf cook evenly.
  • Baste the meatloaf with ketchup or BBQ sauce. This will help keep the meatloaf moist and add flavor.
  • Let the meatloaf rest before slicing. This will help the juices redistribute throughout the meatloaf and make it easier to slice.

Conclusion:

Meatloaf is a classic comfort food that is easy to make and always a crowd-pleaser. By following these tips, you can make a delicious and moist meatloaf that your family and friends will love. So next time you're looking for a simple and satisfying meal, give meatloaf a try.
