BROCCOLI AND RED BELL PEPPER SALAD
Steps:
- Cook the bacon in a skillet over medium-high heat for 5 to 7 minutes, or until crisp. Transfer to a paper-towel-lined plate to drain.
- In a large bowl, combine the broccoli, bell pepper, cheddar cheese, pine nuts, and dried cranberries. Crumble in the bacon and pour in the dressing. Toss well to combine. Let sit for 20 minutes before serving.
Tips:
- Prep your vegetables: Before you start cooking, wash and chop your broccoli and red bell pepper into bite-sized pieces. This will help them cook evenly and quickly.
- Use a large skillet: A large skillet will give the vegetables plenty of room to cook without overcrowding. This will help them brown evenly and prevent them from steaming.
- Don't overcrowd the skillet: If you overcrowd the skillet, the vegetables will steam instead of brown. Cook the vegetables in batches if necessary.
- Season the vegetables: Season the vegetables with salt, pepper, and garlic powder before cooking. This will help them develop flavor.
- Cook the vegetables until tender: Cook the vegetables until they are tender but still have a slight crunch. This will take about 5-7 minutes.
- Add the sauce: Once the vegetables are cooked, add the sauce and stir to combine. Cook for an additional 1-2 minutes, or until the sauce is heated through.
- Serve immediately: Serve the broccoli and red bell pepper sauté immediately, while it is hot and fresh.
Conclusion:
Broccoli and red bell pepper sauté is a quick, easy, and healthy side dish that is perfect for any occasion. It is packed with flavor and nutrients, and it can be served with a variety of main courses.
