CUSTARD DRESSING:
1/2 cups sugar
1-1/2 teaspoons cornstarch
1 teaspoon ground mustard
1/4 cup white vinegar
1/4 cup water
1 large egg plus 1 large egg yolk, lightly beaten
1/2 cup mayonnaise
3 tablespoons butter, softened
SALAD:
4 cups fresh broccoli florets, 1-inch cuts
2 cups sliced fresh mushrooms
1/2 medium red onion, sliced in 1/8-inch-thick rings
1 can (11 ounces) mandarin oranges, drained
6 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
1/2 cup slivered almonds, toasted
1/2 cup golden raisins

Steps:

  • In a large saucepan, combine the sugar, cornstarch and mustard. Combine vinegar and water. Stir into sugar mixture until smooth. Cook and stir over medium-high heat until thickened and bubbly. 1 jar hormel real bacon bits
1 (15 ounce) can mandarin oranges, drained
1 cup chopped walnuts
1/2 cup diced red onion
1/2 cup raisins
1 cup mayonnaise
1/4 cup sugar
2 tablespoons red wine vinegar

1 tablespoon sliced almonds
1 (11 ounce) can mandarin orange sections, well drained
1/2 orange, juice and zest of
2 green onions, chopped
1 1/2 tablespoons white vinegar
1 teaspoon sugar or 1 teaspoon Splenda sugar substitute
1 tablespoon olive oil

Steps:

  • Steam broccoli in covered saucepan for 3 minutes.
  • Remove from heat and rinse with cold running water.

2 (11 ounce) cans mandarin oranges, drained and liquid reserved
2 tablespoons molasses
1 tablespoon soy sauce
½ teaspoon ground ginger
1 ½ teaspoons cornstarch
¼ cup peanut oil
2 heads fresh broccoli, cut into florets
2 tablespoons sesame seeds

Steps:

  • In a small bowl, mix together 1/4 cup of the reserved juice, molasses, soy sauce, ginger and cornstarch. Set aside.
  • Heat oil in a wok over medium-high heat. Saute broccoli florets and one can of mandarin oranges until the broccoli is heated through. The oranges will almost dissolve.
