Tips:

  • Use Old-Fashioned Oats: For a heartier texture and better flavor, use old-fashioned oats instead of quick or instant oats.
  • Brown the Butter: Don't skip the step of browning the butter! This adds a rich, nutty flavor to the muffins.
  • Let the Batter Rest: After you mix the batter, let it rest for 5-10 minutes. This will allow the oats to absorb some of the liquid and make for a moister muffin.
  • Fill the Muffin Tins Almost Full: This will help the muffins rise and create a nice muffin top.
  • Bake Until a Toothpick Inserted in the Center Comes Out Clean: This is the best way to ensure that the muffins are cooked through.
