2/3 c sugar or splenda sugar
1/3 c unsweetened cocoa powder
1/4 tsp light salt
1 tsp baking powder
1 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
1/3 c light margarine
1 egg, lightly beaten
1 c chocolate chips
2/3 c fat-free can milk

  • 3. Cover: Cook on low 2-3 hours or wooden pick inserted in center come out clean. Let cool then cake cut into 12 squares.

Tips:

  • Use a slow cooker liner. This will make cleanup a breeze. You'll also have less of a chance of developing stuck-on bits.
  • Don't overmix the batter. Overmixing can result in a tough, dry brownie cake. Mix just until the ingredients are combined.
  • Don't open the slow cooker during the cooking process. This can cause the brownie cake to fall.
  • Baking Time: Since every slow cooker cooks a little differently, check the brownie cake for doneness starting at the minimum baking time. Additionally, use a toothpick to check the brownies. When the toothpick comes out with just a few moist crumbs attached, the brownies are done.
  • Cool completely before serving. This will allow the brownie cake to set and develop its full flavor.
