This is my family's favorite one dish meal - mine too, since it is so easy to put together! I use skinless, boneless chicken breasts but mixed chicken pieces can be used, too. I also use the low fat, low sodium canned soups and the taste is still great!

1 (10.75 ounce) can condensed cream of mushroom soup
1 (10.75 ounce) can condensed cream of celery soup
1 cup water
1 cup uncooked white rice
1 (4.5 ounce) can mushrooms, drained
1 pinch garlic powder
ground black pepper to taste
1 (1 ounce) package dry onion soup mix
8 skinless, boneless chicken breast halves

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C).
  • In a large bowl combine the mushroom soup, celery soup, water, rice, mushrooms, garlic powder and black pepper. Mix all together. Pour mixture into a 9x13 inch baking dish and spread on bottom.
  • Lay chicken pieces over soup mixture and sprinkle dry onion soup mix over all. Cover tightly with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 1 to 1 1/2 hours or until chicken is cooked through and no longer pink inside.

3 (10.75 ounce) cans condensed cream of chicken soup
1 (10.75 ounce) can condensed cream of mushroom soup
2 cups white rice
2 cups hot water
2 cubes chicken bouillon
1 (1 ounce) package dry onion soup mix
6 skinless, boneless chicken breast halves

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C). Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  • Stir cream of chicken soup, cream of mushroom soup, and rice in a large bowl. Mix hot water and chicken bouillon in a bowl until bouillon is dissolved; stir into rice mixture. Spread rice mixture into prepared baking dish and sprinkle with half the onion soup mix. Sprinkle remaining onion soup mix over chicken breasts; arrange chicken in a single layer over rice mixture. Cover with aluminum foil.
  • Cook the chicken breasts until no longer pink in the center and the juices run clear, 2 1/2 hours. An instant-read thermometer inserted into the center should read at least 165 degrees F (74 degrees C).

1 pound boneless skinless chicken breasts
1 can (15 ounces) black beans, rinsed and drained
1 medium green pepper, cut into strips
1 large onion, sliced
1-1/2 cups picante sauce
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
12 flour tortillas (6 inches), warmed
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
Optional toppings: Thinly sliced green onions, chopped tomatoes and sour cream, optional

Steps:

  • Place chicken in a 4-qt. slow cooker; add black beans, pepper and onion. In a small bowl, mix picante sauce, garlic powder and cumin; pour over top. Easiest recipe I've ever fixed! I received it when my oldest son was a baby --today he is 17 and it is still a hit! Just a few minutes of preparation, and all day cooking. Dinner will be hot and ready whenever you have a chance to eat. Meat falls from the bones, and sauce can be used as a gravy for rice or potatoes. Enjoy!

1 pkg onion soup mix
2 Tbsp brown sugar
1 can(s) plain tomato sauce

Steps:

  • 1. In a large skillet, place the chicken and sprinkle with onion soup mix and brown sugar. Pour sauce over all. Turn heat to med and cook until mixture starts to bubble, then turn to med-low and cover. Cook 35 to 45 minutes or until chicken is done.
  • 2. For crock pot, cook low 4 hours or high 2 hours. Serve with potatoes, rice or noodles.
