Steps:
- 1. Preheat oven 350 degrees. Place butter in a large skillet. Add the onion, and red bell pepper in skillet and cook about 5 minutes. Add the shrimp and garlic and cook until shrimp starts to turn pink. Add the Cajun seasoning, lemon juice, and Worcestershire sauce.
- 2. Turn heat to low. Add the cream cheese, sour cream, half the mozzarella , Parmesan, and white parts of the scallions. Stir until all the cheese is melted together and smooth.
- 3. Place in a baking pan. Sprinkle the remaining mozzarella cheese on the top. Place in oven and bake about 15 to 20 minutes until browned and bubbly.
- 4. Garnish with the green parts of scallion. Serve with crackers.
Tips:
- Use fresh, succulent shrimp. Frozen shrimp can be used, but fresh shrimp will give your dip a more vibrant flavor and texture.
- Don't overcook the shrimp. Overcooked shrimp will become tough and rubbery. Cook the shrimp just until they turn pink and opaque, about 2-3 minutes.
- Use a good quality cream cheese. A cheap cream cheese will not give your dip a smooth and creamy texture. Opt for a full-fat cream cheese for the best results.
- Use fresh herbs and spices. Fresh herbs and spices will give your dip a more vibrant flavor than dried herbs and spices. If you don't have fresh herbs on hand, you can use dried herbs, but use half the amount.
- Don't be afraid to experiment with different ingredients. You can add other ingredients to your Cajun shrimp dip to taste, such as chopped green onions, bell peppers, or corn. You can also adjust the amount of spice in the dip by adding more or less cayenne pepper.
Conclusion:
Cajun shrimp dip is a delicious and easy-to-make appetizer that is perfect for any occasion. It is creamy, cheesy, and packed with flavor. The shrimp are cooked to perfection and the sauce is perfectly seasoned. This dip is sure to be a hit with your friends and family. So next time you are looking for a delicious and easy appetizer, give Cajun shrimp dip a try. You won't be disappointed!
