Time 6h10m

Number Of Ingredients 8

4 large cucumbers, peeled and sliced
2 Tablespoons minced yellow onion
16 ounces sour cream
2 teaspoons salt
1/4 cup white vinegar
2 teaspoons dill weed
1/2 teaspoon sugar
Pinch of pepper

Steps:

  • Place cucumbers and onion in a bowl. In a separate bowl combine sour cream, salt, vinegar, dill weed, sugar and pepper. Mix well. Pour over cucumbers and mix. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for 6 hours or longer. Mix well and serve.

Tips:

  • Choose firm and unwaxed cucumbers for the best results. Peeling the cucumbers is optional, but it will give the salad a smoother texture.
  • Use a sharp knife to thinly slice the cucumbers. This will help them cook evenly and absorb the dressing better.
  • Don't overcrowd the pan when cooking the cucumbers. Cook them in batches if necessary, to ensure that they cook evenly.
  • Stir the cucumbers frequently while cooking to prevent them from sticking to the pan.
  • Season the cucumbers to taste with salt, pepper, and other desired seasonings. You can also add a splash of vinegar or lemon juice for a bit of tang.
  • Serve the creamed cucumbers warm or cold. They can be enjoyed as a side dish or as a light lunch or dinner.
