Provided by BobN

Number Of Ingredients 6

1 bunch of asparagus, woody ends trimmed
3 tablespoons butter, melted
1/2 teaspoon house seasoning (equal parts garlic powder, onion powder and pepper, combined and stored in an airtight container)
1 tablespoon Parmesan cheese, grated
3/4 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
Pinch Italian seasoning

Steps:

  • Line a baking sheet with foil. Place the asparagus on the baking sheet and drizzle with the melted butter. Sprinkle the house seasoning and parmesan cheese over the top. Place in a 400°F oven for 15 minutes. Remove and top with the mozzarella cheese and a little sprinkling of Italian seasoning over the top. Return to the oven for an additional 5 to 7 minutes to melt the cheese and let it begin to brown.

Tips:

  • Prep the asparagus: Trim the asparagus spears by snapping off the woody ends. You can also peel the asparagus if desired, but this is optional.
  • Use a cast iron skillet or baking sheet: A cast iron skillet or baking sheet will help the asparagus cook evenly. If you don't have a cast iron skillet, you can use a regular baking sheet.
  • Don't overcrowd the asparagus: When roasting the asparagus, make sure to leave some space between the spears so they can cook evenly.
  • Use fresh herbs and spices: Fresh herbs and spices will add flavor to the asparagus. Some good options include garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, and thyme.
  • Serve immediately: Cheesy baked asparagus is best served immediately after it's cooked. The cheese will be gooey and melted, and the asparagus will be tender and flavorful.

Conclusion:

Cheesy baked asparagus is a delicious and easy-to-make side dish that's perfect for any occasion. It's a great way to get your daily dose of vegetables, and it's also a crowd-pleaser. So next time you're looking for a tasty and healthy side dish, give cheesy baked asparagus a try. You won't be disappointed!
