Steps:
- Dissolve yeast and sugar in warm water in a bowl. Let stand until the yeast softens and begins to form a creamy foam, about 5 minutes.
- Combine yeast mixture with vegetable oil, salt, and half the flour in a large mixing bowl; stir mixture until no dry spots remain. Stir in remaining flour, 1/2 cup at a time, mixing well after each addition. When the dough has pulled together, turn it out onto a lightly floured surface and knead until smooth and elastic, about 8 minutes.
- Place dough in a large, lightly-oiled bowl and turn to coat. Cover with a towel and let rise in a warm place until doubled in volume, about at least 2 hours.
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C).
- Place risen dough into an 8x8-inch square baking pan. Cover the top of the dough with Italian salad dressing mix and sprinkle loaf with oregano, black pepper, and red pepper flakes.
- Bake in preheated oven until the top is golden brown and the bottom of loaf sounds hollow when tapped, about 30 minutes. About 5 minutes before bread is finished baking, sprinkle the loaf with Colby-Monterey Jack cheese; bake until cheese has melted. Cut into wedges and serve warm.

Steps:
- Preheat oven to 375*.
- Cut bread at 1 inch intervals, but don't cut all the way through; just carefully cut down to the bottom crust and stop.
- Mix together butter, garlic powder and Italian seasoning.
- Separating gently, spread some of the butter mixture on both sides of each slice of bread.
- Stuff some cheese down in between slices, but try to do it evenly, not all stuffed down into the bottom or all at the top.
- Wrap loaf in foil and place on a baking sheet.
- Bake for about 15 minutes, or until cheese is melted all the way through.
Tips:
- Use fresh bread: Stale bread will not produce as good of results. Look for a loaf of bread that is soft and has a slight spring to it.
- Use real butter: Margarine or other butter substitutes will not provide the same flavor or texture as butter.
- Use a variety of cheeses: A combination of cheeses will provide a more complex flavor than using just one type of cheese. Try using a blend of mozzarella, cheddar, and Parmesan cheeses.
- Use fresh garlic: Jarred or minced garlic will not provide the same flavor as fresh garlic. Mince the garlic yourself for the best results.
- Don't overcrowd the pan: If you overcrowd the pan, the bread will not cook evenly. Make sure there is enough space between the bread wedges so that they can cook evenly on all sides.
- Cook the bread wedges until they are golden brown: This will ensure that the bread is cooked through and has a crispy exterior.
Conclusion:
Cheesy garlic bread wedges are a delicious and easy-to-make appetizer or side dish. They are perfect for parties or potlucks. With just a few simple ingredients, you can create a dish that everyone will love. So next time you are looking for a quick and easy recipe, give cheesy garlic bread wedges a try!
