Time 40m

Yield 1 Pie, 6-8 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 8

1 (15 ounce) package refrigerated 9-inch pie shells
1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
1 cup confectioners' sugar
1 teaspoon almond extract
1/2 cup heavy cream
2/3 cup hot fudge topping
1 (21 ounce) can cherry pie filling
2 teaspoons all-purpose flour, for sprinkling

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 450°F.
  • Allow both crust pouches to stand at room temperature for 15 to 20 minutes. Remove one crust from a pouch and unfold. Press to smooth the fold lines.
  • Sprinkle 1 teaspoon of flour over the crust. Lay the crust, floured side down, on an ungreased baking sheet. Using a paper pattern as a guide, cut the crust into a heart shape. Prick the crust all over with a fork.
  • Bake for 8 to 10 minutes, or until lightly browned. Let cool.

Tips:

  • Use fresh cherries. Fresh cherries have a much better flavor than frozen or canned cherries. If you can't find fresh cherries, you can use frozen cherries that have been thawed and drained.
  • Pit the cherries. Before you add the cherries to the pie, you need to pit them. This can be done with a cherry pitter or a paring knife.
  • Use a thickener. A thickener will help to thicken the cherry pie filling. You can use cornstarch, flour, or tapioca.
  • Don't overcook the pie. Cherry pie is best when it is cooked until the crust is golden brown and the filling is bubbling.

Conclusion:

Cherry pie is a delicious and classic dessert that is perfect for any occasion. With its sweet and tart filling and flaky crust, cherry pie is sure to be a hit with everyone. So next time you're looking for a special dessert, give cherry pie a try.
