CHERRY LIMEADE PIE

Cherry Limeade Pie image

Cherry Limeades are my favorite drinks! I thought why not make a pie that taste like one? This is what I came up with. It is really good!

Time 5m

Number Of Ingredients 5

1 8 oz tub of cool whip. thawed.
1 10 oz jar of maraschino cherries ( coarsely chopped)
1/4 c maraschino cherry juice
1 3 oz box of lime jello
1 shortbread pie crust

Steps:

  • 1. Pour 1/4 cup of cherry juice in to a medium bowl (this is the bowl that you will eventually mix all the ingredients in make sure it is big enough)and microwave for about 45 seconds.
  • 2. When the juice is done, pour the lime jello into the cherry juice and mix well. Its ok if it doesn't dissolve.
  • 3. Drain the rest of the cherries and coarsely chop them. I like to use my small food processor for this.
  • 4. Fold in the cool whip with the jello mixture. When that is all incorperated then mix in the chopped cherries.
  • 5. Pour the pie mixture into the shortbread crust. Cover and let it chill in the fridge for about 6 hours or over night. Enjoy

Tips:

  • Use fresh cherries: Fresh cherries provide the best flavor and texture for this pie. If you can't find fresh cherries, you can use frozen or canned cherries, but the flavor will not be as good.
  • Pit the cherries: Before you use the cherries, you need to pit them. This can be done with a cherry pitter or by hand. If you are using a cherry pitter, be careful not to crush the cherries.
  • Use a good quality limeade: The limeade is a key ingredient in this pie, so it's important to use a good quality limeade. Look for a limeade that is made with real lime juice and has a good flavor.
  • Don't overcook the pie: The pie is done baking when the crust is golden brown and the filling is bubbly. If you overcook the pie, the crust will become dry and the filling will be too thick.

Conclusion:

Cherry limeade pie is a delicious and refreshing pie that is perfect for any occasion. It's easy to make and can be enjoyed by people of all ages. If you're looking for a new pie to try, I highly recommend this cherry limeade pie.
