2 cans cherry pie filling
1 box yellow cake mix
1/2 cup butter (cut into tbls)
chopped walnuts, however much you want

  • Serve warm, also is good with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream-- or both.

Tips:

  • Make sure the cherries are pitted and halved before using them in the recipe.
  • If you don't have a cherry pitter, you can use a knife to remove the pits.
  • Be careful not to overcook the cherries, or they will become mushy.
  • The cornstarch in the recipe will help to thicken the cherry mixture, so don't add too much or the mixture will become too thick.
  • If you don't have cornstarch, you can use flour instead, but the mixture may not be as thick.
  • Serve the cherry supreme dessert immediately, or it will start to lose its texture.
