Steps:

  • Place the meat in a bowl with the soy sauce and Chinese five spice and leave to marinate for 20 mins.
  • Prepare broccoli, pepper and spring onions. Mushrooms would also be good, or you could just buy a bag of stir fry vegetables.
  • Heat the oil in a wok or large frying pan and add the meat, ginger and garlic and stir fry for a few mins until cooked through.
  • Add the vegetables and stir fry for a further 2-3 mins.
  • Add the liquid to the pan and cover to allow the vegetables to steam for a minute or two. Instead of sherry/water you could use a sachet of stir fry sauce at this point.
  • If you want to serve with noodles, add (cooked or straight to wok) noodles after the vegetables. Otherwise serve with rice.

BEEF OR CHICKEN TERIYAKI STIR-FRY

Beef or Chicken Teriyaki Stir-Fry image

I love stir frys and this one is a good one! The longer you marinade the meat in the teriyaki sauce the better it is.

Tips:

  • Choose the right cut of meat: For stir-fries, tender cuts of meat are best, such as flank steak, sirloin, or chicken breast. These cuts will cook quickly and evenly.
  • Marinate the meat: Marinating the meat in a flavorful sauce or marinade before cooking will help to tenderize it and add flavor.
  • Use a hot wok or skillet: A hot wok or skillet is essential for stir-fries. This will help to sear the meat and vegetables and prevent them from sticking.
  • Cook the meat in small batches: Don't overcrowd the wok or skillet, or the meat will not cook evenly. Cook the meat in small batches, removing it from the wok or skillet when it is cooked through.
  • Add the vegetables: Once the meat is cooked, add the vegetables to the wok or skillet. Cook the vegetables until they are tender-crisp, stirring constantly.
  • Add the sauce: Stir in the sauce and cook for a few minutes, until the sauce has thickened and the flavors have melded.
  • Serve immediately: Stir-fries are best served immediately, while they are still hot and fresh.

Conclusion:

Stir-fries are a quick, easy, and delicious way to enjoy a healthy and flavorful meal. By following these tips, you can create delicious stir-fries that your family and friends will love.
