BRIAN'S MILK CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES (AKA DIRT COOKIES)

Brian's Milk Chocolate Chip Cookies (Aka Dirt Cookies) image

I am not a big fan of semi-sweet chocolate chips, so I used milk chocolate chips and then decided to make the cookie base chocolaty too. My oldest son called them dirt cookies because of the brown batter. So, the name stuck. My kids love them and I hope you do too!

CHOCOLATE "DIRT"

Chocolate

This chocolate "dirt" is perfect for dusting cakes and cupcakes. It's made from one simple ingredient --dark chocolate chips and super easy to prepare. I recently used this dirt to dust the Whipped Cream Frosting on my Banana Cream Pie Cupcakes. http://www.elanaspantry.com/chocolate-dirt/

1/4 cup dark chocolate chips
1/4 cup dark chocolate chips

Steps:

  • Place chips in a coffee grinder.
  • Grind until the texture of coarse sand.
  • Serve over cream, berries or cupcakes.

Tips:

  • Choose the right chocolate. Use a high-quality semisweet or bittersweet chocolate for the best flavor. You can also use a combination of different chocolates, such as milk chocolate and white chocolate.
  • Use fresh ingredients. The fresher your ingredients, the better your dirt cake will taste. This includes the gummy worms, Oreos, and pudding mix.
  • Don't overmix the batter. Overmixing the batter will make the cake tough. Mix just until the ingredients are combined.
  • Bake the cake at the right temperature. The cake should be baked at a low temperature (325 degrees Fahrenheit) for a long time (about 1 hour). This will help to prevent the cake from overcooking and drying out.
  • Let the cake cool completely before frosting it. This will help to prevent the frosting from melting.
  • Get creative with your decorations. You can use gummy worms, Oreos, chocolate chips, or any other candy or cookies you like to decorate your dirt cake.

Conclusion:

Chocolate dirt cake is a delicious and easy-to-make dessert that is perfect for any occasion. It's a great way to use up leftover cake and pudding, and it's always a hit with kids and adults alike. With a few simple tips, you can make a chocolate dirt cake that is sure to impress your friends and family.
