Time 20m

Yield 30 balls, 30 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 6

100 g marzipan, shredded (try to find Danish marzipan, it is sold in most major stores in Canada, in the bakery aisle)
1 cup rolled oats
1/2 cup butter, very soft
1 tablespoon coffee, cold, as strong as possible
1/3 cup icing sugar
2 tablespoons cocoa powder

Steps:

  • Mix all ingredients in a bowl.
  • Roll 30 small balls - approx 1/2 tbsp each.
  • You can roll the balls in a bit of cocoa if you wish.
  • Cool for 2 hours in the fridge.
  • Keep refrigerated.

Tips:

  • Use ripe bananas. The riper the bananas, the sweeter and tastier your oat balls will be.
  • Mash the bananas well. This will help the oat balls to bind together.
  • Use quick-cooking oats. These will absorb the moisture from the bananas and help the oat balls to hold their shape.
  • Add a little bit of honey or maple syrup. This will help to sweeten the oat balls and make them more flavorful.
  • Be careful not to overmix the oat balls. Overmixing will make them tough.
  • Chill the oat balls before rolling them in the marzipan. This will help the marzipan to stick to the oat balls.
  • If you don't have marzipan, you can use another type of coating, such as chocolate chips, crushed nuts, or coconut flakes.

Conclusion:

Chocolate oat balls with marzipan are a delicious and easy-to-make treat that can be enjoyed by people of all ages. They're perfect for a quick snack or a dessert. With just a few simple ingredients, you can create a batch of these tasty treats that will be sure to please everyone.
