Time 1h35m

Yield 8 to 10 servings

Number Of Ingredients 10

Nonstick baking spray, for the pan
One 15.2-ounce box dark chocolate cake mix, such as Duncan Hines
1 cup whole milk
1/2 cup (1 stick) melted salted butter
3 large eggs, beaten
1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
1/2 cup heavy cream
2/3 cup semisweet chocolate chips
Rainbow sprinkles, for garnish

Steps:

  • For the cake: Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Grease a 10-cup Bundt pan with baking spray.
  • Mix together the cake mix, milk, butter, eggs, chocolate chips and vanilla in a large bowl until completely combined. Pour into the prepared Bundt pan and bake until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean, about 40 minutes.
  • Let the cake cool for about 15 minutes before turning it out onto a cooling rack. Allow to cool completely, an additional 20 to 25 minutes.
  • For the simple chocolate ganache topping: Meanwhile, heat the cream in a small pan until just bubbling. Add the chocolate chips to a small bowl and pour the hot cream over the top. Let sit for 1 minute, then mix until smooth.
  • Transfer the cake to a cake stand or serving platter and pour the ganache over the top, allowing it to drip down the ridges. Sprinkle with rainbow sprinkles and serve.

Time 1h30m

Yield 8 to 10 servings

Number Of Ingredients 10

Nonstick cooking spray, for the baking pan
One 16-ounce box chocolate cake mix
1 cup dark chocolate chips
One 14-ounce can sweetened condensed milk
1/2 cup milk
1 cup milk
One 3.4-ounce packet instant chocolate pudding
1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
One 8-ounce container frozen whipped topping, thawed
Maraschino cherries, drained, for decorating (optional)

Steps:

  • For the cake: Spray a 9-by-13-inch cake pan with cooking spray.
  • Bake the cake in the prepared pan according to the package instructions. Allow to cool slightly, then, using the handle of a wooden spoon, poke holes all over the cake.
  • Melt the chocolate chips in a medium microwave-safe bowl in the microwave in 20-second increments, stirring between each, or in a double boiler on the stove, until smooth. Add the condensed milk and milk, then stir to combine. Slowly pour the mixture over the cake, ensuring you hit every last inch. Allow the mixture to soak into the holes while you make the frosting.
  • For the frosting: Combine the milk, pudding mix and cocoa powder in a bowl. Whisk the mixture until it thickens, 1 to 2 minutes. Gently fold in the whipped topping until combined well.
  • Spread the frosting over the cake, then decorate with the cherries, if using. Enjoy.

Time 1h30m

Yield 10

Number Of Ingredients 9

14 (1 ounce) squares unsweetened baking chocolate
10 tablespoons margarine, softened
¾ cup confectioners' sugar
6 egg yolks
6 egg whites
½ cup white sugar
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon active dry yeast
1 cup apricot jelly

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Place a circle of parchment paper into the bottom of a 10 inch pan for easy removal.
  • Break the chocolate into pieces, and melt it in a metal bowl over simmering water. Stir frequently until melted. Remove from heat, and set aside to cool - don't let it harden.
  • In a medium bowl, cream together the confectioners' sugar and margarine until light and fluffy. Mix the 6 egg yolks into the chocolate until well blended, then stir the chocolate mixture into the sugar mixture.
  • In a large clean glass bowl, whip the egg whites to soft peaks. Gradually pour in the white sugar while continuing to whip the egg whites to stiff peaks. Combine the flour and yeast, and fold them into the egg whites. Fold in the chocolate mixture. Spread the batter evenly into the prepared 10 inch round cake pan.
  • Bake for 1 hour in the preheated oven, or until the top of the cake springs back when lightly touched. Allow cake to cool completely before removing from pan.
  • Split the cake in half horizontally and place the top of the cake onto a serving plate. Spread 2/3 of the apricot jelly onto that layer, then flip the bottom layer, flat side up, and place on top of the other one. Spread remaining jelly over the top.

CHOCOLATE PARADISE CAKE - DEE DEE'S

Chocolate Paradise Cake - Dee Dee's image

This chocolate paradise is filled with orange, honey, pears, coconut and pecans. Truly a chocolate and orange lovers delight! I started making this cake some years ago. I love the orange and chocolate combined with the coconut and pecans. And the whipped cream layers alternating with the filling finishes this cake...yum!! Hope you enjoy too.

INGREDIENTS FOR CAKE:
1 package(s) cake mix, german chocolate
1 - 15.5 ounce can pears, drained, reserve liquid
1/2 cup(s) butter, softened (or margarine)
2 tablespoon(s) honey
1 tablespoon(s) grated orange peel
3 large eggs
INGREDIENTS FOR FILLING
1 can(s) ready to spread coconut pecan frosting
- reserved chopped pears
1 teaspoon(s) grated orange peel
INGREDIENTS FOR FROSTING
2 cup(s) heavy whipping cream
1/2 cup(s) confectioners' sugar
1 teaspoon(s) vanilla extract (or orange flavoring)
OTHER FROSTING OPTION:
1 can(s) ready to spread chocolate frosting, optional
1/2 teaspoon(s) orange flavoring

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
  • Finely chop pears; refrigerate. NOTE: I used a blender to chop pears.
  • In large bowl, combine cake mix, reserved pear liquid (plus enough water to make 1¼ cups), margarine, honey, orange peel and eggs at low speed until moistened; beat 2 minutes at highest speed. Pour into prepared pans.
  • Bake for 25 to 35 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
  • Cool in pans 15 minutes; remove from pans to rack. Cool completely.
  • In small bowl, blend filling ingredients; set aside.
  • In large bowl, beat cream until slightly thickened. Blend in powdered sugar and vanilla; beat until firm peaks form (do no over beat).
  • Slice each cake layer in half to make 4 layers. Place 1 layer on serving plate; spread with 1 cup frosting; top with second layer; spread with half of pear filing. Repeat layers, ending with pear filling, spreading pear filling to within 1 inch of edge on top layer; frost top edge and side of cake with remaining frosting. Refrigerate at least 2 hours before serving. Store any leftovers in refrigerator.
  • NOTE: frost sides of cake with chocolate frosting (add 1/2 tsp orange flavoring) in place of whipped cream frosting if desired

Tips:

  • Use high-quality chocolate for the best flavor. A good semisweet or bittersweet chocolate will work well.
  • Make sure the butter and eggs are at room temperature before you start baking. This will help the ingredients blend together smoothly.
  • Don't overmix the batter. Overmixing can make the cake tough.
  • Bake the cake until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with just a few moist crumbs attached.
  • Let the cake cool completely before frosting it. This will help the frosting set properly.

Conclusion:

Chocolate Paradise Cake is a delicious and decadent dessert that is perfect for any occasion. With its rich chocolate flavor and creamy frosting, this cake is sure to be a hit with everyone. Follow the tips above to make sure your Chocolate Paradise Cake turns out perfectly.
