Tips:
- Choose the Right Cocoa Powder: Use high-quality cocoa powder for a richer chocolate flavor. Look for a powder that is labeled "unsweetened" or "natural."
- Measure Ingredients Accurately: Baking is a science, so accurate measurements are essential. Use a kitchen scale to measure ingredients whenever possible.
- Don't Overmix the Batter: Overmixing the batter can result in a tough, dense cake. Mix just until the ingredients are combined.
- Bake the Cakes Until a Toothpick Inserted into the Center Comes Out Clean: Don't overbake the cakes, or they will become dry.
- Let the Cakes Cool Completely Before Frosting: This will help the frosting to set properly.
