Tips:
- Choose the right apples: Use firm, tart apples that will hold their shape when baked, such as Granny Smith, Honeycrisp, or Braeburn.
- Peel and core the apples: Use a sharp knife to peel and core the apples. You can also use an apple peeler and corer to make the job easier.
- Cut the apples into chunks: Cut the apples into 1-inch chunks. This will help them cook evenly.
- Toss the apples with lemon juice: Tossing the apples with lemon juice will help prevent them from browning.
- Use a Bundt pan: A Bundt pan is the traditional pan for baking apple cake. It creates a beautiful, fluted cake that is perfect for serving.
- Grease and flour the pan: Before you pour the batter into the pan, grease and flour it to prevent the cake from sticking.
- Bake the cake until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean: This will take about 60-70 minutes.
- Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes: This will help the cake to set before you turn it out onto a wire rack to cool completely.
- Dust the cake with powdered sugar: Dust the cake with powdered sugar before serving for a finishing touch.
