Tips:

  • Proof the yeast: Proofing the yeast means activating it in warm water with a little sugar. This helps to ensure that the yeast is alive and active and will help your kuchen rise properly.
  • Use a stand mixer: A stand mixer makes it easy to mix and knead the dough. If you don't have a stand mixer, you can mix and knead the dough by hand, but it will take more time and effort.
  • Let the dough rise in a warm place: The dough needs to rise in a warm place in order to double in size. A warm spot in your kitchen, such as near the oven, is a good place to let the dough rise.
  • Roll the dough out thinly: The dough should be rolled out thinly, about 1/4-inch thick. This will help to ensure that the kuchen bakes evenly.
  • Spread the cinnamon sugar mixture evenly: The cinnamon sugar mixture should be spread evenly over the dough. This will help to ensure that the kuchen has a consistent flavor.
  • Bake the kuchen at a moderate temperature: The kuchen should be baked at a moderate temperature of 350 degrees Fahrenheit. This will help to prevent the kuchen from over-browning.
