1 cup coconut water
3 thin slices ginger
1/2 teaspoon coconut extract
1 cup seltzer
2 to 4 tablespoons flavored syrup

Steps:

  • Combine one 12-ounce can thawed frozen pineapple-orange juice concentrate, 1 cup coconut water and 3 thin slices ginger in a medium skillet; cook over medium-high heat until syrupy, about 20 minutes. Stir in 1/2 teaspoon coconut extract; let cool. Add seltzer.
  • For each drink, combine 2 to 4 tablespoons flavored syrup with 1 cup cold seltzer in an ice-filled glass.

Tips:

  • Use fresh citrus fruits: Fresh citrus fruits provide the best flavor for citrus soda. If you can, use organic fruits to avoid pesticides and other chemicals.
  • Choose the right citrus fruits: Different citrus fruits have different flavor profiles. For a sweeter soda, use oranges or grapefruits. For a more tart soda, use lemons or limes. You can also mix different citrus fruits to create a unique flavor.
  • Use sparkling water: Sparkling water adds fizz to citrus soda. You can use store-bought sparkling water or make your own by carbonating water at home.
  • Add sweetness: If you like your soda sweet, you can add sugar, honey, or agave nectar to taste. You can also use a natural sweetener like stevia or monk fruit.
  • Add flavorings: You can add other flavorings to citrus soda, such as herbs, spices, or extracts. Some popular additions include mint, ginger, and vanilla.
  • Chill before serving: Citrus soda is best served chilled. You can chill it in the refrigerator or over ice.

Conclusion:

Citrus soda is a refreshing and delicious beverage that is easy to make at home. With a few simple ingredients, you can create a soda that is just as good as, if not better than, store-bought soda.
