CLARKE'S BEER CHEESE SPREAD

Clarke's Beer Cheese Spread image

This has been popular in my family for decades. The old way my father made it was to grind the cheese in a meat grinder, then beat the mixture in the electric mixer, which was time consuming. I've experimented and developed a quicker way to make it with a food processor. Just make sure you have one with a strong motor. The spread keeps for at least a couple of weeks in the fridge. Before serving, it is better to let it come to room temperature. Serve with crackers as an appetizer. Can be warmed in the microwave for Welsh rarebit as well.

Tips:

  • Use a good quality beer that you enjoy drinking. The flavor of the beer will come through in the dip, so choose one that has a flavor profile that you like.
  • Shred your own cheese. Pre-shredded cheese contains additives that can prevent it from melting smoothly.
  • Don't overcook the cheese. The cheese should be melted and smooth, but not browned.
  • Serve the dip immediately. Beer cheese dip is best when it is hot and bubbly.
  • Garnish the dip with fresh herbs, such as chives, parsley, or dill.

Conclusion:

Beer cheese dip is a delicious and easy appetizer that is perfect for any occasion. It is quick to make and can be tailored to your own taste preferences. Whether you like it mild or spicy, cheesy or tangy, there is a beer cheese dip recipe out there for you. So next time you are looking for a crowd-pleasing appetizer, give beer cheese dip a try.
