2 tbsp. sugar
2 tsp. salt
1 cup shortening
2 eggs
1 1/2 cups milk

Tips:

  • Use cold butter: Cold butter creates flaky layers in the biscuits.
  • Don't overmix the dough: Overmixing will make the biscuits tough.
  • Chill the dough before baking: Chilling the dough helps the biscuits hold their shape and rise evenly.
  • Bake the biscuits in a hot oven: A hot oven helps the biscuits rise quickly and prevents them from spreading too much.
  • Brush the biscuits with melted butter before baking: This helps the biscuits brown and gives them a shiny crust.
