Tips:

  • Use high-quality chocolate chips. This will make a big difference in the flavor of your Congo bars. Look for chocolate chips that are at least 60% cacao.
  • Don't overmix the batter. Overmixing will make the bars tough. Mix just until the ingredients are combined.
  • Chill the dough before baking. This will help the bars to hold their shape. Chill the dough for at least 30 minutes, or up to overnight.
  • Bake the bars until they are just set. Overbaking will make the bars dry. Bake the bars for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with just a few moist crumbs attached.
  • Let the bars cool completely before cutting them. This will help to prevent them from crumbling.

Conclusion:

Congo bars are a delicious and easy-to-make treat that are perfect for any occasion. They are also a great way to use up leftover chocolate chips. With just a few simple ingredients, you can make a batch of Congo bars that will be enjoyed by everyone. So next time you are looking for a quick and easy dessert, give Congo bars a try.
