I know, there are Copper Pennies all over the place. This is a tad different than the others, but very similar. They must be good to have so many recipes. Really, they are good; they make a great side dish at a picnic or cookout. They are served cold and go with anything. When I make them, I share them with my daughter as she loves them, too. Yield 8 servings

Number Of Ingredients 11

2 lbs carrots,peeled, sliced
1 c. chopped onion
1 c. chopped celery
1 bell pepper, sliced
1 can tomatoe soup
1 tbl sugar
1/2 c salad oil
3/4 c vinegar
1 tsp dry mustard
1 tsp worshestire sauce
salt & pepper to taste

Steps:

  • Cook carrots, onion and bell pepper until barely tender. Do not over cook. Mix in other ingredients. Chill well before serving. Lasts several days in refrigerator.

Tips:

  • Use clean pennies: Before using pennies in any recipe, make sure they are clean and free of dirt and debris. You can clean them by soaking them in a solution of vinegar and salt for a few minutes, then rinsing them thoroughly with water.
  • Be careful not to ingest pennies: Pennies are not meant to be ingested, so it is important to be careful not to swallow them. If you are using pennies in a recipe, make sure to remove them before eating the food.
  • Do not use pennies in recipes that require high heat: Pennies are made of copper, which can be toxic if ingested in large quantities. When pennies are heated to high temperatures, the copper can leach into the food and make it unsafe to eat.
  • Use pennies in moderation: Pennies are a novelty ingredient and should be used in moderation. Too many pennies can overpower the flavor of the food.
  • Have fun! Experimenting with pennies in recipes can be a fun and creative way to add a unique twist to your dishes.

Conclusion:

Pennies can be a fun and unique ingredient to use in recipes. However, it is important to use them safely and in moderation. By following the tips above, you can enjoy the unique flavor that pennies can add to your dishes without putting your health at risk.
