Steps:
- 1. mix together cream cheese, drained crab, and worcestershire sauce. I use the block cream cheese. mixing can be a chore using hand utensils so I just get in and use my fingers to get a good mix
- 2. put mixture on plate or tray for serving and shape it into whatever fun shape you choose. just a plain round is easiest. I leave the mixture about 1 inch or a little more thick on the plate
- 3. pour bottle of seafood cocktail sauce completely over top ( if you have it available in your area the Beaver Brand out of Oregon is one of the best I've had ). Garnish as you choose, parsley always looks nice, sliced olives, you pick
- 4. serve with Ritz crackers for scooping and watch people try and figure out the ingredients

CRAB BALL
Steps:
- Take your cream cheese and place it in a bowl. Add 1 can or 1/2 cup of your crab meat (if you are using canned crab meat drain the water). Mix the crab meat and cream cheese together making sure the crab is evenly distributed thoughout the mixture. Form into a ball. Cover your crab ball with saran wrap. Refrigerate for 2-4 hours. Place on decorative dish and cover top of your crab ball with the cocktail sauce. For decoration you can sprinkle extra crab shaving on the top.
Tips:
- Choose fresh crab meat. Fresh crab meat will give your crab balls the best flavor. If you can't find fresh crab meat, you can use frozen crab meat, but be sure to thaw it completely before using.
- Use a variety of seasonings. Crab balls are a great way to use up leftover herbs and spices. Some common seasonings that go well with crab balls include Old Bay seasoning, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and cayenne pepper.
- Don't overmix the crab balls. Overmixing will make the crab balls tough. Mix the ingredients just until they are combined.
- Chill the crab balls before frying. Chilling the crab balls will help them hold their shape when they are fried.
- Fry the crab balls in hot oil. The oil should be hot enough to sizzle when you drop the crab balls in. This will help the crab balls cook evenly and prevent them from sticking to the pan.
- Serve the crab balls with your favorite dipping sauce. Some popular dipping sauces for crab balls include tartar sauce, cocktail sauce, and remoulade.
Conclusion:
Crab balls are a delicious and versatile appetizer that can be enjoyed by people of all ages. They are easy to make and can be tailored to your own personal taste. Whether you like your crab balls spicy, mild, or somewhere in between, there is a recipe out there for you. So next time you are looking for a quick and easy appetizer, give crab balls a try. You won't be disappointed!
