CRAB PASTA WITH SNAP PEAS AND MINT

Crab Pasta With Snap Peas and Mint image

Sweet crab meat and even sweeter sugar snap peas are a lovely match in this green-flecked springtime pasta. Don't overlook the final garnish of olive oil, lemon juice, black pepper and flaky sea salt - it really brings out the saline flavor of the crab. Try replacing the mint with basil or chives, or even with tender pea shoots, which will increase the pea quotient in a delightful way.

Tips:

  • Choose the right type of crab: For this recipe, it's best to use fresh or frozen crab meat. Avoid using canned crab meat, as it often has a strong, fishy flavor.
  • Cook the crab meat properly: To prevent the crab meat from becoming tough, cook it over medium heat for no more than 3-4 minutes. Overcooked crab meat will be dry and chewy.
  • Use fresh herbs: Fresh herbs like mint, basil, and parsley add a bright, herbaceous flavor to the dish. If you don't have fresh herbs on hand, you can use dried herbs, but be sure to use half the amount.
  • Don't overcrowd the pan: When cooking the crab meat, shrimp, and snap peas, be sure not to overcrowd the pan. This will prevent the ingredients from cooking evenly.
  • Season to taste: Be sure to taste the dish before serving and adjust the seasonings as necessary. You may want to add more salt, pepper, or lemon juice to taste.

Conclusion:

This crab pasta with snap peas and mint is a light, flavorful dish that is perfect for a summer meal. The crab meat, shrimp, and snap peas are cooked to perfection and tossed in a creamy sauce made with white wine, butter, and herbs. The dish is finished with a sprinkling of fresh mint, which adds a refreshing touch. If you're looking for a delicious and easy seafood pasta dish, this recipe is definitely worth trying.
