Tips:

  • To ensure the best flavor, use fresh cranberries for the cranberry sauce. Frozen cranberries can also be used, but they may not have as vibrant a flavor.
  • If you don't have chipotle peppers in adobo sauce, you can substitute 1 teaspoon of chipotle powder. However, the adobo sauce adds a smoky and slightly spicy flavor that really complements the ham.
  • If you're short on time, you can skip the step of making the cranberry sauce from scratch and use store-bought cranberry sauce instead.
  • Be sure to score the ham before baking it. This will help the glaze penetrate the ham and create a more flavorful crust.
  • To make sure the ham is cooked through, use a meat thermometer to check that it has reached an internal temperature of 140 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Let the ham rest for 10-15 minutes before slicing and serving. This will help the juices redistribute throughout the ham, making it more tender and flavorful.

Conclusion:

This cranberry-chipotle ham is a delicious and easy-to-make dish that is perfect for any special occasion. The combination of sweet and savory flavors is sure to please everyone at your table. So next time you're looking for a unique and flavorful holiday ham recipe, give this one a try. You won't be disappointed!
