Tips:

  • To ensure the bars set properly, use a combination of melted butter and oil in the crust. The butter adds flavor, while the oil helps prevent the crust from becoming too crumbly.
  • Use fresh or frozen cranberries for the best flavor. If using frozen cranberries, thaw them before using.
  • If you don't have quick-cooking oats, you can use regular oats. Just be sure to pulse them in a food processor or blender until they are finely ground.
  • For a sweeter bar, add more brown sugar to the filling. You can also add a drizzle of honey or maple syrup.
  • If you don't have a 9x13 inch baking pan, you can use a 10x15 inch jelly roll pan. Just be sure to adjust the baking time accordingly.
  • Let the bars cool completely before cutting them into squares. This will help them hold together better.

Conclusion:

Cranberry trail bars are a delicious and portable snack that are perfect for on-the-go. They are also a great way to use up leftover cranberries. With just a few simple ingredients, you can make a batch of these bars that will be enjoyed by everyone.
