KEY LIME PIE JELL-O® SHOTS

Key Lime Pie Jell-O® Shots image

Who doesn't love key lime pie? I came up with this recipe because I wanted to make mini key lime pies in Jell-O® shot form. It's delicious and guests will love it! Top with whipped cream and enjoy!

Provided by asteingruby

Categories     Drinks Recipes     Shot Recipes     Jell-O® Shots

Time 4h15m

Yield 24

Number Of Ingredients 8

6 graham crackers
¼ cup butter, melted, or more to taste
1 teaspoon white sugar
1 (3 ounce) package lime-flavored gelatin mix (such as Jell-O®)
1 package unflavored gelatin (such as Knox®)
1 cup boiling water
6 fluid ounces cake-flavored vodka
¼ cup heavy whipping cream, or to taste

Steps:

  • Pulse graham crackers in a food processor to make crumbs. Add melted butter and sugar and process until crust mixture can be pressed firmly and maintain its shape. Press an even amount of crust over the bottom and slightly up the sides of a 24-cup muffin tin.
  • Mix lime-flavored gelatin and unflavored gelatin together in a bowl. Add boiling water and stir until gelatin is dissolved. Add vodka; stir in enough heavy cream to achieve desired color. Fill prepared muffin cups to the top with the gelatin mixture. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate until set, at least 4 hours.

Tips:

  • Use fresh oranges and lemons for the best flavor.
  • If you don't have a lemon juicer, you can use a fork to extract the juice from the lemons.
  • Be careful not to overcook the gelatin mixture. It should be slightly thickened, but not too thick.
  • Let the gelatin mixture cool slightly before adding the vodka. This will prevent the vodka from cooking the gelatin.
  • Serve the Jell-O shots immediately, or chill them for at least 2 hours before serving.

Conclusion:

Creamsicle Jell-O shots are a fun and easy way to enjoy a classic summer treat. They're perfect for parties, picnics, or just a casual get-together with friends. With just a few simple ingredients, you can make a batch of these delicious and refreshing Jell-O shots that everyone will love.
