Tips:

  • Use fresh hearts of palm: Fresh hearts of palm have a crisp, tender texture and a slightly sweet flavor. Canned hearts of palm can be used, but they will not have the same flavor or texture as fresh hearts of palm.
  • Cut the hearts of palm into uniform pieces: This will help them cook evenly.
  • Cook the hearts of palm over medium heat: This will help prevent them from becoming tough.
  • Add flavorings to the soup: Onion, garlic, celery, and carrot are all classic flavorings for creamy soups. You can also add herbs, spices, and cheese to taste.
  • Use a good quality broth: The broth is the base of the soup, so it's important to use a good quality broth. You can use chicken broth, vegetable broth, or seafood broth, depending on your preference.
  • Simmer the soup until the vegetables are tender: This will take about 15-20 minutes.
  • Serve the soup immediately: Creamy soups are best served hot.
