Tips:

  • To save time, use pre-cooked chicken or rotisserie chicken. You can also use leftover chicken from a previous meal.
  • If you don't have wild rice, you can substitute brown rice or white rice. However, wild rice has a nutty flavor that complements the other ingredients in this soup.
  • If you want a thicker soup, you can add more flour or cornstarch to the roux. However, be careful not to add too much, or the soup will become too thick and pasty.
  • If you want a spicier soup, you can add more cayenne pepper or red pepper flakes. However, be careful not to add too much, or the soup will become too spicy.
  • This soup is best served hot, but it can also be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. If you want to freeze the soup, let it cool completely before freezing. Then, store it in an airtight container for up to 3 months.

Conclusion:

Crock-Pot Chicken Wild Rice Soup is a delicious and easy-to-make soup that is perfect for a cold winter day. It is made with simple ingredients that you probably already have on hand. This soup is also a great way to use up leftover chicken. So next time you have some extra chicken, try making this soup. You won't be disappointed!
