My husband and Father are crazy about this dish. I originally found this on Allrecipes.com where it was submitted by Nancy. Over time we have modified things a bit to our tastes. If you like hot, please go to town with the seasonings.

Tips:

  • Mise en Place: Before you start cooking, make sure you have all your ingredients prepped and measured. This will help the cooking process go smoothly and quickly.

  • Use a flavorful broth: The broth you use in this recipe will add a lot of flavor to the dish. Use a good quality chicken broth or stock, or even a vegetable broth if you prefer.
  • Seasoning is key: Don't be afraid to add plenty of seasoning to this dish. Creole cuisine is known for its bold flavors, so don't be shy with the spices.
  • Cook on low and slow: The key to tender, flavorful chicken is to cook it on low and slow. This will allow the flavors to meld and the chicken to become fall-off-the-bone tender.
