CROCK POT SLOPPY JOES FOR A CROWD

Crock Pot Sloppy Joes for a Crowd image

I made these for a potluck at work and they were a definite hit! One thing I didn't put in the recipe: instead of using 1 bell pepper, I usually use 1/2 cup of tri-pepper mix. It's just red, yellow and green bell peppers, already diced. Publix sells it in their produce section. It's a real time saver!

  • Don't overcook the meat. Overcooked meat will be tough and dry. Cook the meat just until it is browned and no longer pink in the center.
  • Use a flavorful sauce. The sauce is what really makes sloppy joes special. Use a sauce that is sweet, tangy, and slightly smoky. You can use a store-bought sauce or make your own.

  • Serve sloppy joes on a variety of breads. Sloppy joes can be served on hamburger buns, hot dog buns, or even bread slices. You can also use a hoagie roll or a kaiser roll.
