Time 4h30m

Number Of Ingredients 6

1 lb ground beef
1 can(s) chili beans, 14 oz
1 can(s) chopped green chilies, 4.5 oz
8 oz cream cheese (cubed)
8 oz shredded cheddar cheese
1 tsp chili powder (use either mild or hot)

Steps:

  • 1. Brown the ground beef in a skillet.
  • 2. Drain the fat and transfer a Crock Pot.
  • 3. Add all of the remaining ingredients. Cover and cook on LOW 1-4 hours or until cheese is melted. (Refer to personal note for further information).
  • 4. Switch to a warm setting and/or leave on LOW and serve with tortilla chips.

Tips:

  • Choose the right cheese: A blend of cheddar, mozzarella, and cream cheese is a classic choice for taco dip, but you can also use other types of cheese, such as Monterey Jack, Pepper Jack, or queso fresco. For a richer flavor, use a combination of different types of cheese.
  • Use fresh ingredients: Fresh ingredients will give your taco dip the best flavor. Use ripe tomatoes, avocado, and cilantro. If you can, use homemade taco seasoning instead of store-bought.
  • Don't overcook the ground beef: Overcooked ground beef is tough and dry. Cook the ground beef until it is just cooked through, then drain off any excess grease.
  • Layer the dip carefully: When layering the dip, start with the ground beef, then add the beans, corn, tomatoes, and cheese. Finally, top the dip with the sour cream, guacamole, and cilantro.
  • Let the dip chill before serving: This will allow the flavors to meld and the dip to set. Chill the dip for at least 30 minutes before serving.

Conclusion:

Taco dip is a delicious and easy-to-make appetizer that is perfect for any occasion. It is a great way to use up leftover taco meat, and it can be customized to your liking. With a few simple ingredients and a little bit of time, you can make a taco dip that will be the hit of your next party.
