TURKEY DRUMSTICKS IN THE CROCK POT
The grocery here often has fresh turkey legs and they're very inexpensive. I make this recipe using 4 or 6, however many happen to be in the package. I then take the meat off the bone and use it in recipes that call for cooked chicken or turkey.

CROCK POT CRANBERRY TURKEY TENDERLOIN
The store had a deal on those pre-packaged flavored turkey tenderloins, so I picked up a package to experiment with. This was put together with ingredients I had on hand. The tenderloins I got were the Jennie-O Roast Turkey flavor ones, but I think it would work well with plain tenderloins or a turkey breast as well. Also probably good with pork roasts and chicken parts. I didn't salt the turkey because it was pre-flavored, but plain turkey could probably use some salt. I'm guessing on the amount of cranberry sauce, as I used about 3/4 of a can of whole berry sauce. It's a yummy fall dish, though, and would be nice for Thanksgiving, too!

CROCK POT CHICKEN OR TURKEY STOCK
I now have my crock-pot 6 months. Because I don't need it as a time saver I have not used as much as I thought I would. But, it is great to make good chicken stock and I use it for that purpose a lot. I let the crock-pot do this during the night. My crock-pot is 3 liter/quart so a small one, adjust the ingredients to the size pot you are using and use your own judgement. I find it handy to freeze some of the stock in ice-cube bags for sauces. If you do not have all the ingredients on the list...it does not matter, you also do not have to follow the amounts exactly, be creative and add other veg or more of the same, or what you have in the fridge and think is suitable for making this recipe, just let it cook slowly to get a great rich stock. Have fun with this and enjoy the result!

CROCK POT TURKEY CHILI
No pretense to regional authenticity, but it's the way we like it! You can add more "heat" by increasing the pepper flakes. Goes good with Barb's "recipe #150277". Substitute canned black beans for a change of taste, or use 1 can each of kidney and black beans.

CROCK POT TURKEY WITH MUSHROOM WILD RICE
This is one of our favorite ways to use leftover turkey, or chicken for that matter. It reheats well and the leftovers are also good wrapped up in a warm whole wheat tortilla. However, my favorite way to eat the leftovers is cold over a bed of baby spring greens and topped with walnuts, sliced apple, and purchased low-free raspberry vinaigrette dressing! (I think I actually look forward to the leftovers a little too much!) Sometimes I also throw a cup or so of cooked kidney beans in here.

CHUNKY TURKEY VEGETABLE CHILI (CROCK POT)
This is a combination (and adaptation) of 2 kinds of chilis from Easy Home Cooking's All New Slow Cooker cookbook. It's not a very liquidy chili and it sticks to your ribs. The ground turkey helps make it a little more healthy too. This recipe is very forgiving, so you may adjust the heating time to high (for a shorter period) or a combination of high and low.

Steps:
- Sprinkle turkey with lemon pepper. Place turkey breast halves, meaty sides down in a 5 quart crock pot. Cover and cook on high for 1 hour. Reduce heat to low and clook for 5 hours. Remove turkey to platter, reserving cooking liquid in cooker. Set turkey aside and keep warm.
- Combine flour and water in a saucepan , stirring with a whisk unti blended. Gradually add reserved cooking liquid, stirring constantly. Bring to a boil over medium high heat, stirring constantly. Reduce heat and simmer for 3-5 minutes or until thick, stirring ocassionaly.
- Serve turkey with gravy.
Tips:
- When choosing a turkey for your crock pot, select one that is no larger than 12 pounds. A larger turkey will not fit comfortably in the pot and may not cook evenly.
- Thaw the turkey completely before cooking. This will help it cook evenly and prevent the meat from becoming dry.
- Season the turkey generously with salt, pepper, and your favorite herbs and spices. This will help to enhance the flavor of the meat.
- Add some liquid to the crock pot to help keep the turkey moist. This can be water, broth, or even wine.
- Cook the turkey on low heat for 6-8 hours or until the internal temperature reaches 165 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Let the turkey rest for 10-15 minutes before carving. This will help the juices redistribute throughout the meat.
Conclusion:
Cooking a turkey in a crock pot is a great way to save time and energy while still enjoying a delicious and flavorful meal. With a little planning and preparation, you can easily create a perfect Thanksgiving turkey that your family and friends will love.
