CUBAN BATIDO
Found this in one of those little grocery store magazines and it looks so yummy I want to save it here to try when those warm, lazy summer days arrive. The magazine states "A batido is a popular Latin American drink made with water, milk, fruit and ice. It is similar in testure to a smoothie and literally means "beaten" in Portuguese" Sound good to me. Update: After seeing Loof's wonderful picture I finally got around to making this myself and so glad I did. Love that tropical flavor.

Tips:
- Use ripe bananas: The riper the bananas, the sweeter and creamier your batido will be.
- Freeze your bananas beforehand: Freezing your bananas will make them easier to blend and will give your batido a thicker, creamier texture.
- Use whole milk or a milk alternative: Whole milk will give your batido a richer flavor, but you can also use a milk alternative like almond milk, soy milk, or coconut milk.
- Add a scoop of protein powder: If you're looking for a more protein-packed batido, add a scoop of your favorite protein powder.
- Get creative with your toppings: You can top your batido with a variety of toppings, such as fresh fruit, nuts, seeds, or granola.
Conclusion:
Cuban batidos are a delicious and refreshing treat that can be enjoyed by people of all ages. They are easy to make and can be customized to your own taste preferences. Whether you like them sweet, creamy, or protein-packed, there's a Cuban batido out there for everyone.
